Jonathan Wong
Co-founder & Director

Jonathan is an ARB-registered architect in the UK with extensive experience delivering complex, high-quality. projects. He graduated from the Architectural Association in London and was an Associate at Twelve Architects & Masterplanners, where he led major UK projects and supported business development across Southeast Asia. His work focuses on thoughtful, context-driven design that balances innovation, sustainability, and user experience.

 Samuel Esses
Co-founder & Director

Samuel is an architect engaged in both academia and professional practice. He has worked internationally with Safdie Architects in Boston and as an ARB-registered architect at Grimshaw Architects in London, where he was primarily involved with transportation and sports projects. He is currently a lecturer and researcher at the Bartlett School of Architecture, teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

OUR STORY
Superficium Studio was founded by Samuel Esses and Jonathan Wong through a shared curiosity about how architecture can evolve beyond conventional boundaries to create unique environments and experiences. They met while studying at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, an environment renowned for its culture of experimentation and its legacy of shaping contemporary architectural discourse.

Superficium Studio grew out of this way of thinking, a practice built on research, collaboration, and the belief that meaningful architecture is derived from a deep understanding of culture and context.

Together, they bring over 16 years of project experience across the UK, EU, Middle East, and East and Southeast Asia, gained while working at internationally renowned architecture practices.

We offer a comprehensive architectural design service, adaptable to the specific needs of each project.

We provide services for individual clients and developers - Brief Development, Feasability Studies, Concept & Schematic Design.
We collaborate with design teams as a strategic design partner - supporting specific project scopes and, contributing to the development of distinctive, high-quality design outcomes.

We work with a consortium of small design practices extending our capabilities across technical, environmental and BIM expertise.

Visualisation
We offer affordable design visualisation services, integrating the latest AI models for rapid iteration and utilising real-time rendering engines to deliver immersive VR experiences, allowing spaces to be experienced before being built.
